Receiving Payment Of Real Property Tax
About the Service:

All declared real property owners whose property situated within the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Polanco are required to pay their taxes at the Office of the Municipal Treasurer.

All realty taxpayers are granted a discount privilege at the maximum rate of 20. The Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 7160 distinguish two (2) kinds of discounts:

  • Prompt payments which are entitled to a 10% discount (January 1 to March 31 of the current year) and
  • Advance payments which are entitled to 20% discount.

The delinquent taxpayers are subject to penalty rate of 2% a month up to a maximum of 36 months equivalent to 72%.

Issuance Of Certificate Of Real Property Tax Payment
About the Service:

A Certificate of Real Property Tax Payments is required in certain transactions (e.g. lot loan application, transfer of ownership) to prove the taxes on real property have been paid and updated. This may be secured from the Office of the Municipal Treasurer.

Requirements:

  • Latest Official Receipts of RPT Payments
  • Official Receipt-Certification Fee.

If the purpose of the requested certification is Transfer of Ownership, the following are further required:

  • Document supporting the Transfer of Ownership, duly notarized (Deed of Sale)
  • Transfer Tax Payment-Official Receipt

Receiving Transfer Taxes
About the Service:

The Transfer Tax is imposed on the sale, donation, barter or any mode of transferring ownership or title of real property.

The tax should be paid within 60 days from the date of execution of the deed or from the date of the property owner’s death, in case of transfer by succession.

Requirements:

  • Copy of real property tax declaration
  • Deed of Sale, donation or any applicable document proving transfer of property ownership.

Fees:

The maximum tax rate is 50% of 1 % of the total consideration involved in the acquisition of the property or fair market value based on the value enacted by the Sanggunian for property tax purposes, whichever is higher.

Receiving Community Tax Payment
About the Service:

The community tax shall be collected by the Municipal Treasurer. However, the Barangay Treasurers are deputized to collect the community tax in accordance with the existing laws. It is imposed on the individuals who are inhabitants of the Philippines with age 18 years old and above who:

I. Are regularly employed on a wage or salary bases for at least 30 consecutive working days; or
II. Are engage in business or occupation
III. Own s real property with an aggregate assess value of P1 ,00000 or more; or
IV. Are required to file an income tax return.

On Corporation, no matter how created or organized, whether domestic or foreign engaged in doing business in the Philippines.

Requirements:

  • Previous Community Tax Certificate
  • Income Tax Return from proceeding year to determine the gross income of taxpayer/gross receipt from proceeding year
  • Notice of Assessment of Real Property for real property owners

Fees:

A. On individuals:

Basic Community Tax of P5.0o plus additional P1.00 per P1, 000.00 income from business, profession or property. In no case shall the community tax of an individual exceed P5, 000.00.

The tax shall accrue on January 1 of each year and will become payable without penalty until February 28. The community tax shall be paid in the LGU/Barangay where the residence of the individual is located. Payment of other community tax in other LGUs does not extinguish the individual’s liability to pay the community tax in LGU where the residence of an individual is located.

B. On Corporation:

Basic Community Tax of P500.00 plus additional P2.00 for every P5,000.00 worth of Real Property in the Philippines and P1.00 for every P1,000.00 of gross or earnings.

Receiving Payments Of Business Taxes, Fees And Charges
About the Service:
Any person who establishes, operates or conducts any business trade within the Municipality is required to pay his business taxes at the Office of the Municipal Treasurer, provided, however, it is covered by the tax or revenue ordinances.

For new applicants to open business, payments of taxes be made before the start of business operation.

For renewal of business, payment be made within the first twenty (20) days of January of the current year. Failure to pay within the prescribed period shall subject the taxpayer to a 25% surcharge plus 2% percent interest/penalty per month. Business establishments can pay without penalty in four (4) equal installments, as follows:

  • 1st installment — on or before January 20;
  • 2nd installment — on or before April 20;
  • 3rd installment – on or before July 20; and
  • 4th installment — on or before October 20

Retiring A Business License
About the Service:

Business establishments that have closed or ceased to exist or whose ownership has changed the same shall be surrendered to the Municipal Treasurer and the sworn statement of the gross sales or receipts of the current year or quarter shall be submitted within thirty (30) days following the closure, then the tax due shall be paid before the business is retired or terminated.

3. Registration and transfer of Large Cattle.

The Barangay Captain and/or owner of Large cattle may request for registration when the animal reach ’1 year old and shall pay the amount of 5.00M head without penalty. Failure to register within the prescribed period shall subject the taxpayer to a surcharge of Pr50.00/year.

For transfer of Ownership, a certificate of transfer shall be issued to the purchaser upon payment of P 10.00/head and P50.00 shall be charged for inspection fee. Submit to the Municipal Treasurer the request for large Cattle Registration if done in the Barangay.
